Commitment to Progress

At Gentherm, supporting initiatives and institutions that improve our communities is integral to what we do and who we are. Since our company was founded, donating to charities, educational organizations and disaster relief efforts worldwide has been a primary focus of our organization. We are committed to remaining active in the community and continuing our legacy of corporate responsibility and volunteerism as well as educating and improving the lives of the next generation through STEM education.

FIRST® Robotics Competition

We are happy to have started FIRST robotics teams at three inner-city Detroit schools primarily comprised of 14-18 year old young women of various ethnic backgrounds. The FIRST® Robotics competition started in 1992 with 28 teams in a New Hampshire high school gym and has now grown to include 400,000 young people annually.

Alongside construction of our Acuna, Mexico manufacturing facilities, we built the Gentherm Family Center in an effort to provide our valued employees services and amenities that improve the lives of them and their families.  This 2,000 square foot facility provides a caring and supportive environment which offers psychological, legal and medical services from accredited professionals.

The House of Hope Orphanage was built with a considerable donation by Gentherm and the collaboration of two other manufacturers who do the majority of hiring in the Acuna, Mexico area. The new 8,073-square-foot Casa de Esperanza improves the physical infrastructure, security and living conditions for approximately 55 children, replacing an outdated, smaller building that had fallen significantly out of compliance with building codes, lacked security and could not accommodate children with special needs.
